 Like  many of us Long Covid sufferers Mia was going through different phases of Long Covid. She initially thought she had overcome a large part of  the illness, just to then horribly crash again and being close to being  bedridden again after 2,5 years since the onset of her symptoms. Krisztina Koncsek, Ουγγαρία, Post Vac και Long Covid

3 εβδομάδες μετά τον εμβολιασμό της, η Krisztina έπαθε συγκοπή κατά τη διάρκεια μιας προπόνησης τένις, δεν υπήρχε οξύ καρδιακό τραύμα, αλλά μετά από αρκετές εξετάσεις διαγνώστηκε μυοκαρδιοπάθεια. Αφού φάνηκε να αναρρώνει εν μέρει, εμφάνισε POTS, κόπωση και ήπια γαστρεντερικά συμπτώματα.

Μετά από δύο μεταγενέστερες λοιμώξεις Covid επιδεινώθηκε σε σοβαρή κόπωση και σοβαρό POTS, άρχισαν τα προβλήματα ισταμίνης και η εμφάνιση μουδιάσματος και πονοκεφάλου.

Τον Οκτώβριο του 2023 από τη μια μέρα στην άλλη έμεινε καθηλωμένη στο κρεβάτι, με πολύ έντονη κόπωση, αϋπνία, γαστρεντερικό πόνο, πόνο στο στομάχι, συμπτώματα που μοιάζουν με νευροπάθεια και αίσθημα φλεγμονής. Οι θεράποντες γιατροί της είπαν ότι πρόκειται για ψυχολογική διαταραχή, διότι όλες οι εργαστηριακές εξετάσεις της βγήκαν εντάξει.

When she arrived the last week of May at the Apheresis Center, she had 35 (!) severe symptoms. Today, beginning of July there are almost no symptoms left, with moderate MCAS being the main symptom to work on. During the video she surprised Markus – she is moving to Cyprus in October – being sunlight-tolerant again after treatment will definitely help there!

 Ο Marko μιλάει για την εμπειρία του στην Κύπρο, στην κλινική μας στη Λάρνακα, για το πόσο χρήσιμη ήταν η Dianna από την ταξιδιωτική υποστήριξη με τη μεταφορά και τη διαμονή και για τα πλεονεκτήματα που βρήκε στο να θεραπεύεται στο νησί μας. Mélène Guévremont, Post Vac & Fluoroquinolone-Associated Disability, Αυστραλία

Η Μελίν έφτασε με το αναπηρικό σκούτερ της, το οποίο χρειαζόταν επίσης για να πηγαίνει από δωμάτιο σε δωμάτιο.

Ο τραυματισμός μετά το εμβόλιο που βίωσε αμέσως μετά τη χορήγησή του, της έδωσε το συνεχές αίσθημα ότι το σώμα της καίγεται συνεχώς, συμπτώματα κόπωσης, PEM, ζάλη, εγκεφαλική ομίχλη, ευαισθησία στη ζέστη/στο φως/σε χημικές ουσίες, MCAS με δυσαπορρόφηση και πολλά άλλα.

Despite her not having a long period of stay at our clinic – it is hard to leave two little kids for long with the grandparents – and ‘only’ 4 Help Apheresis sessions, she regained her ability to walk! Other symptoms improved or vanished.

15 ετών Liz Jelley, Long Covid, Σκωτία

 Η Liz (Elizabeth ή αλλιώς Lizzie) Jelley είναι γνωστή στους ανθρώπους με Long Covid. Έχει υπάρξει ακτιβίστρια για τα παιδιά του Long Covid και συμμετείχε ακόμη και στη σύνταξη μιας επιστολής διάψευσης προς τον Πρωθυπουργό του Ηνωμένου Βασιλείου σχετικά με το Long Covid. Είχε πολλές εμφανίσεις στον Τύπο και στην τηλεόραση. Αυτό που πολλοί δεν γνωρίζουν είναι ότι η μητέρα της είχε "ήπια" MECFS για χρόνια, αλλά στη συνέχεια χτυπήθηκε επίσης από το Long Covid.

Jenni Bösnad-Klein, Post-Vac, Γερμανία

Jenni, her husband and her little two kids came to Cyprus for a month, because her Post Vaccine Injury had become so unbearable she had to take action. Her symptom list was long, just like most patients’:

Long Covid Παιδιά & Έφηβοι: Zac Sobey (13) και ο πατέρας του Ryan, Long Covid, Αυστραλία

 13-year-old Zac Sobey from Australia went from being carried to the beach – because he could no longer walk – to surfing in a matter of weeks after having been treated at our clinic. His father, Ryan Sobey, originally from South Africa is a scientist with background in genetics and biochemistry. This helped him identify Help Apheresis as a treatment for his son’s Long Covid.

Ο Zac υπέφερε από έναν μακρύ κατάλογο σοβαρών συμπτωμάτων:

In this interview with our co-founder and director Markus Klotz, father and son reflect on their trip to Cyprus and how Zac, as a 13-year-old teenager, experienced the process of going from being severely disabled to being a healthy teenager again (with only mild fatigue left after exercise – which is still improving).

Maria Endrodi, Σύνδρομο μετά τον αεραγωγό / Long Covid, Ουγγαρία

Η Μαρία και ο Τάμας, ένα υπέροχο ζευγάρι από την Ουγγαρία με ρίζες στις ΗΠΑ και την Ιταλία, έφτασαν στο νησί μας στις αρχές Σεπτεμβρίου και προτού το καταλάβουμε, έλουσαν την ομάδα μας με γλυκά κέικ και αγάπη. Όταν έφτασε η Μαρία, τα επίπεδα του άγχους της ήταν μόλις και μετά βίας υποφερτά γι' αυτήν, υπέφερε από έντονη μυϊκή αδυναμία, αναπνευστικά προβλήματα, εγκεφαλική ομίχλη, συνεχή κόπωση, κακουχία μετά την άσκηση, αϋπνία, δυσλειτουργία της θερμοκρασίας και νευροπάθεια καθώς και άλλα αυτοάνοσα προβλήματα. Τα συμπτώματά της ξεκίνησαν πριν από δύο και πλέον χρόνια μετά τον πρώτο εμβολιασμό, αλλά επιδεινώθηκαν σοβαρά μετά από μια λοίμωξη Covid. Αφού αφαιρέσαμε αρκετά μεγάλα συσσωματώματα θρόμβων από τις φλέβες του βραχίονα της, τοποθετήθηκε ένας καθετήρας για να μπορέσουμε να πραγματοποιήσουμε τις θεραπείες Help Apheresis παρά τη σοβαρή υπερπηκτικότητα. Μετά από 5 εβδομάδες συνδυαστικής θεραπείας με 6 Help Apheresis, αντιπηκτικά, αντιιικά και διάφορες ενδοφλέβιες χορηγήσεις ανέκαμψε και τώρα είναι και πάλι κοντά στον παλιό της εαυτό. Stephen Bradshaw, Long Covid, Αυστραλία

 ‘I arrived here practically in a wheelchair, I had not been well for a very long time. I did all of my own research before I left Australia and Help Apheresis seemed to have the answers to help fix me. From the minute you walk into the clinic, the staff could not be more friendly. They seem to have blended the German efficiency and the Cypriot hospitality. It is such a warm environment to be treated, the staff is incredible, they put me so much at ease with their kindness. The treatment itself is not that invasive, especially if you have the catheter because it means you can have your hands free and read et cetera. Now after treatment Nr. 4 I feel fantastic, but I still have to finish the course of 6 treatments because the filters are still coming out blocked. Overall I can’t thank the clinic enough, the treatment has been fantastic. Overall it has been a fantastic experience, I could not recommend it highly enough. When I realized there is a clinic in Cyprus, the fact that it is a beautiful island made the choice of me and my wife easy. It is a great place to recover and heal by the sea. My advice to other patients is to do your own research, work out if you have micro-clotting which is easy to understand if you follow the symptoms. And then do what it takes to get this treatment to get your life back.’

Verena Hunger, Σύνδρομο Post Vac, Αυστρία

Verena had already tried every possible treatment when she came to our clinic, she even tried Immunoadsorption before and it helped her with the neurological symptoms she was having, but it didn’t help with the fatigue. Unfortunately, three months after her Immunoadsorption, she got worse again as it’s effect was temporary.

She also shares her experience on how easy her travel to Cyprus was with the help of our partner Thomas from TravelSupportCyprus who took care of everything travel and medical travel related for her, so she did not have to worry or stress about anything. She arrived well rested and with literally no travel burden. Beforehand she had thought travelling to Cyprus would be much more difficult.

Jeremy Smith, Long Covid, Ηνωμένες Πολιτείες

 ‘I had 4 Help Apheresis treatments last year in Germany. They brought me back to 80% of my former capacity. Unfortunately I reinfected with Covid again after and as I did not have Early Treatment packages back then, my Long Covid came back with even more symptoms. 

I decided to go for Combination Therapy with Help Apheresis at the Apheresis Center in Cyprus. I was put on the clinics’ MCAS protocol a few weeks prior to my arrival and I arrived with my MCAS being much better already. Now I am receiving Help Apheresis, IV treatments and medication protocols since three weeks and my symptoms are mostly gone already, I could even have a beer yesterday for the first time again and enjoy the beach, no more pain and anxiety! 

The Apheresis Center is a totally different experience and I am super happy I chose Cyprus. It is very different from Germany. The doctors, nurses and the whole team are doing everything to bring me back to my full capacity, their knowledge about Long Covid and the individually adapted treatment is great – a real concierge medicine experience! I missed home last year in Germany – here in Cyprus not a single day, we even extended our stay and will come back next year for holidays!’

Στεφανία Χατζηιωάννου, Long Covid, Ελλάδα

Stephanie suffered from severe Long Covid. Extreme fatigue and loosing her ability to speak were the most present symptoms, but the list of symptoms was long: Noise and movement sensitivity, dizziness, PEM, cognitive dysfunction/brainfog, memory loss, POTS, headaches, muscle pain and depression. After 6 weeks of treatment with Apheresis, Hyperthermia, IVs, Nutraceuticals and Peptides she was symptom free. It was remarkable to see he getting her ability to speak back so quickly.
